Product Overview
In the early 1920s, as motorized fire engines began to replace horse-drawn hose wagons, pedal car versions started to appear on neighborhood sidewalks. In 1924, the Toledo Metal Wheel Company offered youngsters one of the most striking fire engine pedal cars ever trusted to protect a neighborhood. The original Fire Engine #6, with its nickel-plated boiler, outshone other pedal cars and rescued its share of stuffed animals from precarious perches. This series of Keepsake Ornaments highlights pedal cars produced from the 1920s to the 1960s. Die-cast metal. The wheels turn.
